The Nokia Lumia 900 Dark Knight Rises smartphone will be on sale from June 1st in the UK.
The Nokia Lumia series of smartphones are the best-selling Windows Phone powered handsets in the world, with thanks to Nokia striking a deal with Microsoft to offer Windows on its smartphones exclusively. In the Lumia range there is the Nokia Lumia 710 a smartphone aimed at people looking for a budget handset, the Nokia Lumia 800 which is a premium smartphone aimed at personal and business users, and the Nokia Lumia 900 which carries across all that is great about the 800 but with a bigger display.
Now, however, Nokia is set to release a very special addition to its line up in the name of the Nokia Lumia 900 Dark Knight Rises edition, to celebrate the third and final installment to the latest series of Batman films. The handset, which sports the same specifications as the original Lumia 900, is set to cost £599.99 Sim-free in the UK or you can grab one for free on a £31 per month contract.
As stated the Nokia Lumia 900 Dark Knight Rises ports over all the same specifications as the original 900, which is no bad thing, with the limited edition handset sporting a laser etched Batman logo on the rear being the only thing to distinguish it along with a few other tweaks and exclusives.
Moving on to the exclusives you will find within the new handset, and you’ll find a limited edition black and grey Batman theme pre-installed on the handset along with a very exclusive Dark Knight Rises app to help keep you up to date on all the latest news, images and exclusive trailers for the film.
Nokia Lumia Dark Knight Rises buyers will also get the chance to take part in the exclusive game ‘Claim Gotham City’ where you’ll have to choose to become either Batman or Bane and then retake the city by checking into real life locations. A nice touch, for sure.
Clear selling points to this handset, apart from its special edition status, include a 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED Display, Windows 7.5 and an 8 mega-pixel Carl Zeiss lens for snapping photo’s.
The Nokia Lumia 900 Dark Knight Rises smartphone will be on sale from June 1st in the UK however certain stores and leading mobile retailers are already taking pre-orders.
As for the actual Batman Dark Knight Rises film, in which Batman (played by Christian Bale) takes on Bane (played by Tom Hardy), you’ll have to wait until July 20th for the official UK release date. The film itself looks to be pretty solid, however with Heath Ledger portraying an amazing Joker in the last one, Tom Hardy is going to have a hard time creating Bane in to as memorable a character as in the last film.
Overall the Nokia Lumia 900 Dark Knight Rises smartphone looks to be a solid special edition run, with the laser etched rear Batman logo being extremely cool and the Lumia 900 internals offering up an excellent handset. Now wouldn’t it be cool if you got a free Nokia Lumia 900 Dark Knight Rises handset when you watched the film at the cinema?
